The late Overseas Filipina household service worker, who was allegedly killed by the employer’s wife in Kuwait last month, has finally arrived back to her homeland.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) brought back the remains of Jeanelyn Padernal Villavende to her grieving family on January 8 in Manila, Philippines.
DFA provided the Villavende’s family with PhP 100,000.00 financial assistance to shoulder funeral expenses.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro López Locsin Jr. paid his respects by touching Villavende’s coffin.
I’m gonna get that native recruiter who sent her to her torment. https://t.co/guX8fWLzaX

DFA Sec Locsin Jr. boldly replied to a sympathizing citizen that he would go after Villavende’s irresponsible recruiter.

The DFA SEC also assured a concerned citizen that he would keep a close eye on those who were allegedly responsible for the tragic death of Villavende.
DFA hired one of the best criminal lawyers in Kuwait to ensure that the culprits will be punished to the full extent of the law.
The Philippine government imposed a partial working ban in Kuwait as a response in their failure to protect the welfare of OFWs.
