The victims of the deadly car crash in Lucky Plaza Mall in Singapore were sisters from La Union and have been working as overseas Filipino workers in the last 30 years.
Arcely and Arlyn Nucos were among six Filipinos who were gathering in the exit lane of Lucky Plaza car park when a car crashed in the metal railing and hit them.
50-year-old Arlyn died on the spot while 56-year-old Arcely remains unconscious.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, their brother learned about the incident when he called his wife who also worked as a domestic helper in Singapore.
The family is now arranging the repatriation of Arlyn’s remains back in La Union. The sisters even sent their Christmas gift to their family before the fatal car crash.
Both Nucos sisters had been working as domestic helpers since 1990.
