Several flights have been cancelled as Typhoon Ursula makes landfall in the country on Christmas eve.
This leaves some passengers to celebrate Christmas at the airport.
Philippine Airlines in a statement said they have announced flight cancellations as early as Monday.
Cebu Pacific and Air Asia also announced flight cancellations because of the brewing storm.
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) however clarified that airport operations have remained normal despite the holiday rush.
At least 13,395 passengers are also stranded in various sea ports in the Bicol region as of 12 noon today, according to the Philippine Coast Guard.
The PCG said more than 10 thousand of these stranded passengers are bound for Visayas and Mindanao.
