Three kids drowned in a resort in Marilao, Bulacan after being left by themselves while bathing in the pool.
Authorities also stumbled upon drug paraphernalia in the room where the family checked-in.
Ederlyn Lucañas claimed that paraphernalia belonged to his live-in partner Joel Mañulit.
Lucañas, the mother of the two children, Aileen and Princess Lyka Lucañas, both six years old, said she accompanied her children along with their cousin Akihiro in the pool area.
She told the authorities she left the three to get her phone in their room.
“Ang sabi ng nanay sa amin, sinamahan niya yung mga bata roon sa pool, kaya lang umalis siya na walang ibang nagbantay kasi kumuha lang daw siya ng cell phone doon sa room nila. Pagbalik daw ng ina, nakita nang palutang-lutang sa pool ang tatlong bata,” Police Master Seargent Ariel Gacutan told GMA News.
Authorities are now looking for Mañulit who fled from the scene.
