SWS: 8 out of 10 Filipinos satisfied with war on drugs

The Social Weather Stations (SWS) revealed that eight in 10 Filipinos were satisfied with the government’s war on drugs despite the alleged killings of drug suspects.

The survey released on Saturday was conducted from Sept. 27 to 30 of 1,800 adults which showed that 79 percent were satisfied with the drug war, 15 percent were not, and 6 percent were undecided.

Furthermore, the survey showed a ‘very good’ net satisfaction rating of +64 but was 6 points less compared to June and March’s +70.

Majority of the respondents said that “drug suspects have lessened, ” which accounts for 42 percent.

Another reason cited by respondents said that “drug suspects have been arrested” at 18 percent.

11 percent said that the war on drugs lessened crimes in the country.

Respondents who are not satisfied with the drug war stated that drug trade and suspects are still prevalent.

Another reason for dissatisfaction included ‘too many killings’ followed by ‘too many wrongful suspects or arrests’.
