Angkas riders hold ‘Unity Ride’

Riders of motor-hailing app Angkas today gathered on EDSA-Whiteplains in Quezon City to protest the government’s move to limit the motorcycle-hailing app’s drivers to 10,000 from 27,000.

Earlier, Angkas issued a statement seeking help to save 17,000 riders who will lose their job following LTFRB’s decision to downsize their numbers.

But the inter-agency body denied the motor taxi app’s claim and said it actually added two motor taxi firms — JoyRide and MoveIt— to avoid a monopoly of Angkas during test run.

The technical working group extended the pilot run of motortaxis from December 23, 2019 to March 23, 2020.
