The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has reported that structures in Davao Airport sustained cracks following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that hit the region yesterday.
In a status report, CAAP said while there were no damages on the airport’s runway, some structural damages were reported in the structures.
“Recent strong aftershocks resulted to cracks on the ground near Passenger Boarding Bridge #5 and International Baggage buildup area. Still verifying level of damage,” CAAP said.
CAAP however clarified that despite the cracks on structures, the airport continues to operate normally.
Airlines however should be the one notifying their passengers should there be any flight interruptions caused by the quake, according to CAAP.
“Definitely ‘yung mga airlines concerned, tatawagan ‘yung ating mga pasahero kung sakaling magkakaroon ng adjustments sa flight,” CAAP said.
