The Social Security System (SSS) called on its self-employed, voluntary, and overseas Filipino workers (OFW) members to pay their monthly contributions online.
In a statement, SSS said that online transaction is safer, faster and more efficient for OFW members.
Members can pay through BancNet online, UnionBank online, and Globe’s GCash facility on or before the due date.
“Some SSS members miss their payment deadline of contribution or loan payments due to their busy schedules. Late loan payments incur penalties, while missed monthly contributions affect their eligibility for benefit claims,” SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Aurora C. Ignacio said in a statement.
Ignacio added that paying online would lessen the burden of paying in banks and centers for their members.
The move is part of SSS digitization program.
