Up until his last breath, celebrity chef Gary Rhodes was doing the thing he loved the most – cooking.
His family, according to a report by the Mirror, confirmed in a statement that Rhodes died on Tuesday evening, Nov. 26.
He was working earlier in the day at his kitchen in Grosvenor House in Dubai.
The 59-year-old celebrity chef’s cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
The family is asking everyone to give them privacy at this time of their mourning.
A spokesperson for the hotel said the industry has lost a “true culinary legend”. Rhodes is also described as an “inspirational human being and a very dear friend”.
Rhodes rose to fame in the early 2000s, fronting the shows MasterChef and Hell’s Kitchen.
It was in 2011 when he moved to Dubai and later set-up two of his restaurants – Rhodes 2010 at Le Royal Meridien Beach and Spa and Rhodes W1 at the Grosvenor.
Rhodes died with his wife Jeannie by his side. He has two children.
