An African tourist was immediately rushed to the hospital through airlift after his hot-air balloon exploded mid air and crashed at Sharjah’s Al Badayer area on Sunday.
The tourist’s relative said that he came to the country two weeks ago to go for a desert safari.
Authorities said that police forces immediately sent a patrol, ambulance, and rescue unit at the crash site after receiving a tip on the accident.
Reports said that the call’s request was to airlift the tourist in a critical condition. The African man was brought via helicopter to the Al Qasimi Hospital.
The man is now currently at the hospital’s intensive care unit.
Initial investigation shows that the balloon exploded suddenly because of a technical snag.
Authorities are now looking into the possible cause of the accident and if there’s any violation on why the balloon exploded.
The police report states that this is the third incident this week in the Safari area of Al Badayer.
Two Indians died because of a bike accident and a woman suffered injuries after her bike collided in the desert.
