President Rodrigo Duterte wants a thorough investigation on the deadly collapse of a portion of Hotel Sogo in Malate, Manila.
The incident left two people dead and 20 workers injured.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said that the President was saddened and shocked over the incident.
“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has already ordered a thorough investigation and we ask concerned authorities to coordinate with the City Government of Manila, particularly the Manila City Engineering Office, for the conduct of the probe,” Panelo said.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has ordered a separate probe to look into the liability of the city government, the company or the contractor.
Malacañang also lauded Moreno’s action on the fatal accident.
