A Filipino was recently caught and fined by authorities for taking a quick nap at the Dubai Metro.
Jair Ugto, a freelance stylist who has been working in the UAE for eight years, said that he didn’t realize that he had taken a snooze as he was exhausted from work.
“Naka-idlip ako dahil sobrang pagod sa trabaho. First time pong nangyari sa akin to,” shared Ugto in an interview with The Filipino Times.
He said that an inspector saw him on the CCTV and woke him up as he rode the Dubai Metro’s Gold Class cabin and will be paying a total of Dh300 as a fine.
Ugto hopes that his story will be a lesson for fellow Filipinos to follow the rules of the Dubai Metro at all times. “Wag matulog habang nasa metro dahil online sila sa CCTV,” said Ugto.
