DUBAI: The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has bestowed upon the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Dubai and the Northern Emirates (POLO-Dubai and NE) the coveted Kabalikat Award, which honors partners in the public and private sectors for their contribution and support to the promotion and implementation of technical vocational education and training in the country and abroad.
The award was received by Labor Attache Felicitas Bay. It was the first time that a POLO was given the recognition.
Bay said POLO Dubai and NE has been TESDA’s active partner in conducting Overseas Assessment Program for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
To date, she said, the program has assessed 538 OFWs and certified 412 more.
“We are committed to pursue more onsite assessment and certification that will benefit our OFWs,” Bay told The Filipino Times.
“Skills enhancement is the way forward . POLO Dubai is committed towards the global excellence of skilled OFWs,” Bay added.
