A Nigerian illegal liquor dealer was killed during a fight with three Asian men armed with knives and batons in Sharjah following an argument over liquor price.
Police arrested the three after the bloody brawl in which one defendant used a kitchen knife to stab the victim in the chest.
“Court was told this week that the fight was triggered by disagreement on liquor prices and that the three attacked the Nigerian man and his friends,” the official said as per the Emarat Al Youm daily report.
It said the three defendants denied murder charges on the grounds they were defending themselves after they were assaulted by the Africans.
The judge decided to adjourn hearings to September 24 for more witnesses.
