A Filipina housemaid could get a tougher punishment after she was convicted of adding her urine to her employer’s food.
A court of first instance in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia had sentenced the maid to 8 months in prison. She will be deported after serving her jail term.
But the prosecutor at an appeals court on Saturday called for a tougher penalty against the maid on the grounds her female employer fell ill and was taken to hospital after discovering she had food mixed with urine.
Sabq newspaper said the unnamed maid had confessed to adding urine to the employing family’s food and drinks because they have mistreated her.
