Comedian collapses, dies on stage in Dubai

Even before an Indian comedian has delivered his best punch lines, he collapsed on stage on Friday night.

As per The National report, the audience thought that his collapse was part of a comedic routine.

Little did they know, Manjunath Naidu already had suffered a cardiac arrest.

Naidu, 36, was performing a stand-up comedy act at the Signature Hotel in Al Barsha when he passed out.

When he did not get up, the hotel staff administered CPR before he was taken to a hospital where he passed away.

“Manjunath Naidu, my partner, one of the most amazing standup comedians, incredible improviser, and a great person with a big heart, has passed away on stage, doing what he loves best, making people laugh,” said Grace Chng, Naidu’s partner posted on Facebook.

Naidu grew up in Abu Dhabi and was a certified psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist.

It was reported that he had anxiety issues before stepping on stage on Friday.

Naidu’s death came as a shock to his friends.
