Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has shifted his focus now in removing politicians’ names in schools and gyms across the city.
In a press briefing, Tuesday, Moreno said it’s about time to put a stop to what he described as “epal politics.”
Moreno said the order also includeshis name painted on some Manila schools and gyms.
“Bawal ang epal. Tigilan na natin yan,” Moreno said in the briefing.
Moreno said his directive covers all elementary and high schools in Manila. The new mayor also hopes to implement the implementarion of the nutria-bun program for kinder and elementary students starting next year.
Two weeks since he took office, Moreno has intensified clean-up efforts in the city, pushed for the rehabilitation of Manila zoo and cracked down on “kotong” (extortion) activities.
