A precautionary hold departure order (PHDO) has been issued by the court against officers of the Kapa Community Ministry International Inc., including founder Pastor Joel Apolinario.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) Undersecretary Mark Perete said Monday that the Davao City Regional Trial Court Branch 16 issued the order against eight officers of the group that the government alleged is an investment scam, as per a report from GMA News.
The PHDO is issued by a court against persons suspected of committing crimes. The order also prevents an individual from leaving the country.
Meanwhile, Kapa Community Ministry International members are set stage a three-day rally on Sunday, July 7, 2019, according to a report by Abante Tonight.
Kapa member and Urban Poor Convenor Danny Mangahas said that through the activity, they hope to convince President Rodrigo Duterte to order a re-investigation of their group and the resignation of Securities and Exchange Commission Emilio Aquino.
Mangahas said that not a single member has filed a complaint against the group for the allegation of ‘investment scam’ and that it was SEC that has filed a criminal complaint.
The planned activity will be held simultaneously in Mindanao and in Mendiola in Manila. Attendees are expected from Luzon and the Visayas areas.
It can be recalled that last month, President Duterte ordered Kapa closed on allegations that the group is involved in an investment scam.
