President Rodrigo Duterte hits Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio over his comment that allowing Chinese fishermen in the country’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) is unconsititutional.
“The State shall protect the nation’s marine wealth in its exclusive economic zone, and reserve its use and enjoyment exclusively to Filipino citizens,” Carpio said in a statement.
In a speech Duterte called Carpio for issuing those remarks.
“Napaka-istupido mo that is why hanggang diyan ka lang talaga,” Duterte said.
The President added that the Philippines doesnt have the capacity to prohibit China from fishing. He also said that the EEZ does not guarantee sovereignty.
“Kung iprohibit ko, how do I enforce? Takot nga ang Amerika. Ayaw nga mag-confront. Tapos ako pa ang i-pusta nila? Gusto talaga nila mapasubo ako,” Duterte added.
The Predent insists that the country cannot go to war.
“Ang hamon ko sa Amerika, Britain France. Mag-assemble tayo dito sa Palawan. Tapos diretso na tayo doon sa Spratly Islands. Agawin na natin” he said.
