Dubai Police called parents and all other drivers to assure that children leave vehicles before locking them, stating that their competent teams rescue over 100 children who are left trapped in vehicles every year.
Dubai Police reasoned this matter by showing a video of a father forgot his son who suffered psychological and physical issues afterwards. “We save the lives of over 100 children every year due to carelessness of parents and drivers”, Dubai Police added.
The tragic incident of the Asian kid who was left for 9 hours in a bus in Industrial Qouz area, and died due to suffocation, is a lesson to all of us.
Colonel Faisal Issa Al Qassem, Director of Security Information in Dubai Police, said: “Forgetting a child for a few minutes might cause losing them forever”, because of the extremely high temperature. “Dubai Police always warns everyone from such acts which reflect nothing but negligence.” He added.
Besides, Colonel Faisal Al Qassem stated that after the children find themselves alone in the car, they panic and eventually choke. He also mentioned that most of these catastrophic incidents happen in malls and public parks, where parents leave the car without even checking whether they have all their children with them, or in the villa parking where cars are usually left open, the thing that makes the situation even worse.
“It’s so necessary for parents to take care of their child, one thing the latter can’t do it on their own. Our rescue teams are equipped with sophisticated tools which enable them to open vehicle causing no damage to the child or car. However, it’s the parents’ responsibility to look after their children and keep them away from danger”, explained Colonel Faisal Al Qassem.
