Two workers commit arson to steal colleague’s money

Two Asian workers appeared before the Fujairah Penalty Court after stealing money from a safe inside their dormitory and deliberately setting fire in a vehicle.

The defendants who live with other workers in an apartment with several rooms, planned to steal amounts of money from the safe where all workers keep their personal belongings.

The first defendant came up with a brilliant idea to distract other workers and keep them away from the safe to make it an easier operation. He asked the second defendant to set fire in a vehicle that was parked in front of the dormitory so the latter can rush and steal the money.

When everyone went out to check the burned car and try to extinguish fire, the first defendant was able to reach the safe and stole Dh 4,000 but fortunately, one worker caught him trying to escape.

The public prosecution ordered that both defendants be referred to the courts of law on theft and arson charges.
