The Criminal Court of Abu Dhabi heard the case of an Asian accused of transferring ownership of 3 cars owned by a well-known agency without an attorney.
The defense lawyer requested to summon the employee who transferred the ownership of the vehicles to ask about the procedures that were taken in this regard. He also demanded to summon 3 witnesses to prove the transfer of ownership of the vehicles.
The defense lawyer also addressed the General Directorate of Traffic at the Registration of Vehicles and Drivers regarding actions taken in this matter as well as the possibility of transferring ownership of a vehicle without the presence of its owner or agent.
When the court asked about a settlement with the complainant company, the defense lawyer stated two parties haven’t reached to an agreement, explaining that the defendant was requesting that his passport be replaced by the amount deemed appropriate by the court, and that he’s ready to pay for the 3 cars.
