Senator-elect Francis Tolentino wants to add another star on the Philippine flag representing Benham Rise, an island located in Aurora Province.
“I propose a fourth star to the Philippine flag. A fourth star to reflect the Benham Rise, the future Philippines, the future land of the next generation of Filipinos,” Tolentino said in a speech in Davao City, Wednesday.
Tolentino said he is aware that Congressional approval is needed before his proposal materialize.
There is also a need for a consultation with the National Historical Commission or NHC.
