‘Bride-to-be’ killed in tragic car crash after traditional ‘pamamanhikan’

From wedding ceremony to funeral, a soon to be bride was among those killed together with 12 others after a tragic road accident in the town of Pili, Camarines Sur.

The victim identified as Bea Lucelo was traveling with her family and friends in a Foton truck lended by the municipal office of San Fernando when the truck fell off the mountain road.

Lucelo was among those immediately killed, leaving 41 individuals injured.

A municipal official said that the group came from ‘pamamanhikan’, a Filipino wedding tradition that gathers the families of the groom and the bride before the actual wedding day.

Police report said that the truck lost it brakes while traversing the mountainous road until it hit a tree.

Photos of passengers scattered on the road were posted on social media.

“The truck lost control and rolled over, throwing off some of the passengers while others were crushed,” a police official said.
