Another selfie photo taker died while taking a shot at the edge of the rim of the Eagle Point observation area in Grand Canyon West.
This, after an earlier incident in the same area last week.
Spokesman David Leibowitz said the victim (identified publicly only to be on his 50s and is from Hong Kong) was lifted from 1,000 feet below the site which is a popular tourist destination on the Hualapai reservation outside the boundaries of the national park.
The man stood too close at the edge despite signages warning tourists not to do so. The area was closed for the day after the incident.
Meanwhile, a body was found Tuesday evening in a wooded area south of Grand Canyon Village away from the rim and authorities at Grand Canyon National Park are working to identify a person believed to be a foreign national.
The National Park Service and the local medical examiner’s office are still investigating the cause of death, said park spokeswoman Vanessa Ceja-Cervantes.
In 7 years, a study made a record of 259 people worldwide who died while taking selfie photos who took more risks to get a dramatic shot.
