President Rodrigo Duterte’s common-law partner Honeylet Avanceña protested strongly against the series of online videos accusing members of the presidential family of having involvement in the big-time illegal drug trade in the Philippines.
To recall, the videos titled “Ang Totoong Narcolist” shows a certain “Bikoy” claiming that he was a former drug syndicate member and that he has evidence of the involvement of President Duterte’s family members in the illegal trade.
In the first episode, he tagged the president’s eldest son Paolo Duterte as one of the principals of the drug syndicate.
A few days after the second episode was released wherein it was mentioned that Avanceña, as well as her daughter Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, also have involvement in the drug trade.
After the episode was posted online, Avanceña cried foul over the allegations and the mention of her teenage daughter’s name.
In the second video, Avanceña and Kitty were alleged to have been receiving payoffs from the illegal drug trade and depositing such transactions in banks in Hong Kong.
“Tell them, pag sure oi. Napaka walang hiya ko naman na nanay kung ipangalan ko sa anak ko,” Avanceña said in a text message sent to GMA News.
It is not yet known where the videos came from but Senator Antonio Trillanes IV had been accused by Paolo as the mastermind behind the series. Trillanes has since denied the allegation.
President Duterte has also dismissed the said videos saying that it is “propaganda” from the opposition.
