A burglary attempt was foiled by an unlikely ‘eye witness’ in Navotas City last week.
Authorities were able to arrest Edison Ortega, 28, a resident of B48, Barangay Longos, Malabon City, and a known member of “Sputnik Gang.”
Ortega was supposed to rob the house of Marivic Faller, 48, at Bangus Street, Barangay Kaunlaran, Navotas City.
However, the robbery attempt was foiled when the victim’s in-law, a legally blind person, was alerted by the rattling noise coming from inside the living room of the house.
The in-law, who was not named by the police, immediately alerted other people inside, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
