Two expats in the UAE on Tuesday, January 22, won $1 million (Dh3,673,200; Php52,750,000) each after their tickets were selected in the latest Dubai Duty Free raffle.
A 49-year-old British national named Neil H. won US$1 million in Series 291 with ticket number 1927. The British national has been a resident of Dubai for 12 years and works for an international oil and gas company.
The British national has been joining the raffle for a long time and was surprised when he finally won the grand prize.
“Huge thanks to UAE and Dubai Duty Free for kick starting my 2019,” the British man said.
Meanwhile, an Indian national based in Sharjah also won $1 million in Series 292 with ticket number 2582.
Abhishek Kathel works as cabin crew for Air Arabia and bought his first ever ticket from The Craft Shop in The Irish Village.
“Thank God for this wonderful news! I cannot believe that I will win this big with my first ever ticket for the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire,” Kathel said.
