Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday, November 20, for his two-day state visit to the country.
Xi arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 at 11:30 a.m. where he was welcomed by Philippine Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, Philippine Ambassador to China Chito Santa Romana, and Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua.
Following his arrival, Xi is set to visit the Malacañang Palace and the Rizal Monument in Luneta Park for a wreath-laying ceremony.
After which, a bilateral meeting between the Chinese president and President Rodrigo Duterte will happen to be followed by a state banquet hosted by the Philippine government.
On his second day, Xi is also scheduled to meet with several Philippine government officials such as Senate President Tito Sotto and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Xi will leave the country on Wednesday, November 21.
Earlier, Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno claimed that one of the agreements expected to be signed during the visit is the bilateral deal to hire 10,000 Filipino workers in China.
