Motorists are reminded not to use hazard lights while driving on a foggy weather as it may cause vehicular accidents.
According to Abu Dhabi Police, using hazard lights during a foggy weather may bring confusion to the vehicles in the back because the driver can not determine the direction of the vehicle in front of it.
Article 104 of the traffic regulation rules for 2017 states that motorists using hazard lights during foggy weather conditions will be fined Dh500 with four black points.
In a video released by Abu Dhabi Police, motorists are reminded that hazard lights must be turned on in the following cases:
- Upon a compelled stopping of the vehicle on the road;
- To warn other drivers of road dangers;
- Upon stopping on the right or left shoulder of the road; and
- In case of a traffic accident.
