A Filipina was murdered by her actor husband in Sweden, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported on Sunday, September 30.
The Filipina, identified as Mailyn Conde Sinambong, was murdered by her husband Steve Aron Bakre Aalam on September 23, leaving behind their two children in Kista, Sweden.
Sinambong’s husband has confessed to the crime and is currently under the custody of Swedish authorities.
In an earlier report published by Migrante Europe, the mother of the victim, Maria Conde Sinambong, reported the incident to Migrante’s office in Cebu and told them that there have been clues in the past of abuse towards the Filipina and their son. However, the victim’s mother said that her daughter said “very little regarding her real situation.”
The victim’s mother also sought for government assistance particularly on the repatriation of the victim’s remains to which foreign affairs secretary Alan Peter Cayetano agreed to.
Cayetano has given assurances that all the necessary assistance shall be extended to Mailyn’s family to not only immediately reunite her with her loved ones in the Philippines but also to ensure that justice would be served.
