An Asian clothes’ tailor was arrested on Tuesday after the Abu Dhabi Police found that he had been selling methamphetamine to residents in the UAE.
In an Instagram post, the police said that the man possessed six kilograms of crystal meth when he was arrested.
The man was observed by the police after they have been tipped off that the suspect had intentions to distribute the narcotic substance.
Colonel Taher Gharib Al Dhahiri, director of the Drug Control Department at CID pointed out that the information was validated through surveillance and investigations. He added that he suspect failed to hide from the authorities despite posing as a tailor.
The suspect confessed to selling meth for additional income. He was referred to the Public Prosecutor’s office and was charged with possession and promotion of drugs.
“Every person who embodies good citizenship should not hesitate to report such traders and should not be a target when offered toxic goods or lured with cash to promote them,” Colonel Al Dhaheri said.
