Nine official of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) are urging President Rodrigo Duterte to fire PCOO Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson after her lewd chant on federalism went viral on social media a few weeks ago.
The officials wrote a letter addressed to President Duterte asking him to remove Uson from her position in the government as she allegedly violated Section 4(b) of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (Republic Act 6713), reported GMA News.
A copy of the said letter has also been forwarded to the offices of Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea and Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go.
It can be recalled that Uson and social media personality Drew Olivar drew major criticism from politicians, celebrities, and netizens after they published a video on Facebook that contain a racy chant about federalism.
After the flak they have received, both Olivar and Uson refused to apologize for their actions and defended themselves by saying they only want to raise awareness on the government’s plan on shifting to a federal form of government.
As of press time, neither the president nor Uson has released a statement regarding the issue.
