Dubai authorities prepare for Eid rush

With the approach of Eid Al Adha, the Dubai police and Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) are preparing for the rush of the public in popular landmarks across the city.

The RTA along with Dubai Police’s Traffic Insurance Committee have held several coordination meetings to ensure smooth traffic and safe roads on the holiday.

Brigadier General Khalil Obaid Al-Bishri, acting Director of the Committee said there will be an increased presence of traffic patrols to facilitate and reduce road congestion, especially on the major hubs and commercial centers.

“A joint security plan was developed to secure tourist areas, commercial centers and traffic during the Eid celebration,” said Al-Bishri in a statement.

Eng. Maitha Bin Oday, Executive Director of Traffic and Roads Authority assured that several routes have been planned to ease the traffic on the Burj Khalifa district and the Financial Center Road.

Meanwhile, the Dubai Police is also armed for tackling criminality within the holidays. Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al-Mansuri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Dubai police for criminal research confirmed that there will also be deputy police in designated areas.

Al-Mansuri also called on residents to check the security of their homes before leaving. He also advised families going to the beach to leave their valuables in their vehicles and to keep their eyes on their children.
