Pag-IBIG reminds OFWs to review membership to avoid delay in claiming benefits

Pag-IBIG Fund reminded its overseas Filipino worker (OFW) members to check membership ID to avoid delay in claiming retirement benefits.

Vice president for public relations & information ng Pag-IBIG Fund, Kalin Franco-Garcia, made the the statement following the report of an OFW from Kuwait that he has yet to receive to receive his retirement benefits six months after applying for the claim.

“Pumunta na ko sa Pag-IBIG office sa Makati… Sinabihan nila ako na ang aking claim ay may dalawa pang kompanya ang may problema at di pa nila na-process ang aking contribution,” OFW Noel Maglupay told ABS-CBN’s Tapat na Po.

Franco-Garcia explained that upon review, Maglupay’s contributions were addressed to “different sectors of the agency” and had to be consolidated first to finalize his total contributions.

Aside from ensuring that the member’s contributions are only linked to one membership ID, Franco-Garcia also called its members to immediately submit their employment history when asked.

“Also when we ask for your employment history, sana po kumpletuhin,” said Franco-Garcia.

Currently, Pag-IBIG has addressed 95 percent of its members who have problem with their membership.
