A study conducted by WorldRemit, a digital money transfer company, has found that more female overseas Filipino workers send money home compared to their male counterparts.
The top priority among 92% Filipina OFWs respondents is their children’s education back home, the Manila Times reported.
The study also suggests that more Filipinas abroad, 72%, extend financial help to those outside their immediate family.
According to the Philippines Central Bank, total remittances from overseas Filipino workers last year increased by 4.3%, from PHP1.42 trillion in 2016 to PHP1.51 trillion last year.
