Filipina raped by man who promised her work in Russia

A Filipina domestic helper cried for help after she was allegedly raped multiple times by a man who offered her a job in Moscow, Russia.

The OFW, 35-year-old Elena, recalled that a man, whom she believes is a Turkish national, offered her a job as a cleaner in Russia. Instead of giving Elena the job he promised, the Turkish national sexually abused the Filipina.

Elena added that the sexual abuse happened more than once.

“Nung time na ‘yun, ilang beses niya akong ginamit, paulit-ulit at sunod-sunod,” she added.

Elena sustained bruises on her neck and other parts of her body due to the repeated sexual abuse.

Through Elena’s housemate Vicky, the domestic helper filed a police report and underwent a medico-legal examination.

Elena will undergo post-traumatic stress counseling with the help of the Philippine Embassy in Russia.

Agad-agad namin siyang natulungan. Sinigurado namin na magkaroon siya ng sapat na medical attention at sinamahan din namin siya sa mga awtoridad,” Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos Sorreta said.

The OFW hopes that justice on her sexual abuse will be served.

Authorities in Russia are still investigating the case as manhunt for the suspect continues.
