A Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released on Wednesday, May 23, revealed that fewer Filipinos expect quality of life to improve in the next 12 months.
Results of the survey showed that only 46% of Filipinos, deemed as the optimists, expect their lives to improve. This figure is lower than the results of the December 2017 survey which showed that 49% of Filipinos expected a better life.
Meanwhile, 6%of the respondents in the recent survey, deemed as the pessimists, expect their quality of life to get worse.
Moreover, the results bring the personal optimism score, or the percentage of optimists minus pessimists, to +40 compared to a record-high of +46 in December 2017.
The results, however, was still categorized as “excellent.”
The survey was conducted from March 23 to 27 where 1,200 Filipino adults were interviewed.
The margin of error is ±3% for national percentages.
