President Rodrigo Duterte took a break from his presidential duties last May 17 to attend the senior high school graduation of his granddaughter Isabelle Duterte.
The said commencement exercises took place at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
Isabelle was among the first batch of senior high school graduates of San Beda College Alabang. She took the humanities and social sciences strand under her school’s new curriculum.
Isabelle’s parents, President Rodrigo Duterte’s eldest son, Paolo Duterte and ex-wife Lovelie Sangkola Sumera, were also there to celebrate their daughter’s academic achievement.
The Palace said in a news release that the president, who is also a San Beda alumnus, allowed several students to take photos with him. The president even went up to the stage to greet the officers and staff of San Beda College Alabang.
On her personal Instagram account, Isabelle also posted a photo of her proud moment with the caption, “It was a short but blissful year, San Beda!”
Isabelle made headlines earlier this year because of her highly debated photo shoot at the Malacanang Palace for her luxurious debut party.
