Here’s all you need to know about the Royal Wedding

May 19 — a day that will make a mark in the history of the British Royal Family.

A few hours from now, wedding bells will ring for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and millions of people from all over the world will witness this historic event.

The public has followed their love story, from the time they were introduced to one another by designer Misha Nonoo, to their engagement, up until the last hours leading up to their wedding.

Even though there are still some information about their wedding which are left uncovered, let us break down some details that we can expect in what’s probably going to be the wedding of the year.

Venue

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding ceremony will take place at St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle. It will be followed by a carriage procession.

The Sun reported that after the ceremony, a banquet hosted by the Queen will likely happen in St George’s Hall, a grand 180 ft-long room within Windsor Castle.

Other online sources have also said that there will be an evening reception hosted by Prince Charles which will take place in Frogmore House.

Time

The wedding will start at 12:00 pm on May 19. Guests will start arriving by 9:00 am to 11:00 am, while members of the Royal Family will arrive at 11:20 am.

Meghan’s dress

Just like Kate Middleton’s dress, there are no specific details about Meghan Markle’s wedding dress. Viewers would have to wait until the ceremony to see what she will be wearing.

However, Page Six quoted British bridal designer Caroline Castigliano, who said that Stella McCartney would most likely create Meghan’s dress as the former would be a “perfect fit for the bride-to-be’s style”.

There are also some who predict British design house Ralph and Russo will make Meghan’s dress since they were the one who created her engagement outfit.

Decorations

According to The Sun, floral arrangements will be courtesy of floral designer Philippa Craddock. She will provide flowers that will include white garden roses, foxgloves and peonies.

Pastry chef Claire Ptak will also make the lemon elderflower cake for the wedding.

Expected guests

Aside from the members of the British monarchy, more than 200 guests are expected to attend Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding.

The Palace previously confirmed that Prince Charles will be the one walking Meghan to the aisle since her father, Thomas Markle, was given medical advice to no longer attend the wedding due to health issues.

However, according to an article by People published earlier today, the Palace released the official royal wedding program, and Meghan’s father’s name is still in it.

Meghan will also not have a Maid of Honor since she can’t choose one among her long list of friends, as per an article on The Sun.

The same article further said that she will, however, have six bridesmaids and all of them are children aged 2 to 7. They are Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s only daughter; Miss Florence van Cutsem, Prince Harry’s goddaughter; Miss Remi Litt and Miss Rylan Litt, daughters of Benita Litt who is one of Meghan’s close friends; Miss Ivy Mulroney, daughter of Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney; Miss Zalie Warren, one of Prince Harry’s godchildren.

It has also been reported by Us Weekly that Meghan’s co-stars in the American TV series “Suits” will be attending the ceremony, but will not be among the 200 guests during the reception.

On the other hand, Prince Harry’s brother, Prince William, is expected to be the groom’s best man.

The Sun also enumerated the ushers at the wedding: Tom ‘Skippy’ Inskip, 31; Charlie Van Straubenzee, 29; Tom Van Straubenzee, 35; Adam Bidwell, 42; Arthur Landon, 37; William Van Cutsem, 38; and Mark Dyer, 52.

Entertainment

It can be recalled that singer Ellie Goulding was the one who entertained the guests during Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding reception.

For Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding, many online sources are guessing who will be taking the stage this time. Many of them mentioned British singers Adele, Sam Smith, and Ed Sheeran as the most notable candidates.

Expenses

According to MarieClaire.com’s exclusive royal wedding expert Caroline Castigliano, the cost of Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding will be a little lower compared to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, saying that her estimate is around £20 million.

“I estimate the dress, bridesmaids’ dresses, invitations, flowers, drinks, food, music, and entertainment will be around 20 million pounds,” Castigliano said.

Castigliano’s estimate does not include the royal couple’s cost for security yet.

During Prince William and Kate’s wedding, they spent around £5.9 million just on security alone.

It was reported that the Royal Family will be paying for the wedding.
