A former contestant of ‘The Voice Kids’ in the Philippines died in a tragic road accident last Sunday night in Barangay Mabalanoy, San Juan, Batangas.
According to ABS-CBN, singer Christian Pasno, 13, was driving a motorcycle when he got in an accident.
“Nag-overtake siya sa isang motor. Itong motor ni victim ay walang headlight. Merong tambak ng lupa hindi niya napansin. Madilim dun,” Senior Insp. Roy Cuevas of San Juan police told ABS-CBN.
Pasno was not wearing a helmet that was why he sustained severe traumatic brain injury.
Pasno’s family said that, before his accident, he came from a nearby town to accompany his father who sang for a certain event.
“Masakit po sa akin. Hindi ko po matanggap na mawawala siya. Sobrang mahal ako nun,” said the father of the departed singer.
Pasno first made his TV appearance on The Voice Kids in 2015. He made it through the show’s blind auditions where he sang “Ika’y Mahal Pa Rin”.
He became part of Coach Bamboo’s team but his journey on the show was shortlived after he got eliminated during the battle rounds.
