A public school teacher in Sharjah faced punishment after a video of him dancing with his students while in class went viral.
An official at the Sharjah Education Zone (SEZ) said the dancing, which the teacher allowed to happen, caused commotion in class, reported Khaleej Times.
“The teacher did not seem like he was in control of the class and allowed the students to create ruckus. He even danced with them, without realising that such a behaviour is against the values of the UAE society,” the official said.
The teacher was transferred to another school in Al Dhaid as punishment. Meanwhile, the parents of the students in the video were summoned by the Ministry of Education and asked them to sign a deal which states that their kids would not cause commotion in class again.
The students’ phones were also confiscated after the incident.
Some netizens also hurled their criticisms at the said teacher, saying the act did not befit his status as an educator and role model to his class.
