A 30-year-old Asian worker will be serving one-month imprisonment in Dubai after he disclosed to police that he was planning to kill his Emirati employer.
The Indian worker had called the Dubai Police on January 10 to reveal his intention to kill his sponsor as his complaints on his work and low compensation were ignored.
He said, “I will kill my sponsor who lives in Ras Al Khaimah after I finish Al Duhur prayers because he is very bad with me,” reported The National.
Soon after, he was arrested as the police was able to locate him through his mobile number.
Dubai Court of Misdemeanors heard that the accused had long been wanting to return home for being treated poorly; however, his sponsor refused to give him his passport.
He also admitted the charges saying, “I truly intended to kill him but I didn’t have the time to do so, because I was arrested.”
The Indian will also be deported after serving his sentence.
