“If you don’t agree with Duterte, leave the gov’t,” says Sotto

Support the policies of the Duterte administration or resign from your position in government.

This was the statement made by Senate Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III on Wednesday, September 13, citing the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) criticism of the administration’s drug war as the reason for the House of Representatives’ approval of the agency’s P1,000 budget for 2018.

The senator added that officials are free to leave if they want to criticize the government.

Senators Francis “Chiz” Escudero, Bam Aquino, and Panfilo Lacson took to social media and said they will oppose the proposed budget for CHR.
