PNP cancels Espenido posting to Iloilo City
The Philippine National Police halted the deployment of Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido to Iloilo City. Chief Supt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, Western Visayas police director, said Espenido would remain with the Northern Mindanao regional police department as Ozamiz City police chief. Binag said the order did not offer any explanation.

Top W. Visayas drug lord slain
Police authorities in Iloilo City killed Western Visayas’ top suspected drug lord on Friday night. Iloilo Police Provincial Office carried out a drug operations to arrest alleged drug lord Richard “Buang” Prevendido. Reports said the policemen retaliated when they were welcomed by gunfires.

Espenido transfer to Iloilo cancelled
Chief Supt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, Western Visayas police chief, announced that Senior Supt. Henry Binas as Iloilo City police chief, halting the deployment of controversial Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido’s transfer to the city. Earlier, Espenido said he is still has an assignment in Ozamiz City, which is to arrest Ricardo Parojinog.

Top West Visayas drug lord killed
Chief Supt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, Western Visayas police director, credits the successful drug operations to arrest Richard Prevendido and son, to “good intelligence”. Binag said the police force were trying to serve a warrant of arrest to the drug suspect, but Prevendido’s side resisted, Prevendido leads “Prevendido Drug Group” and had a P1.1-million bounty.
