His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered to release 543 prisoners of different nationalities in time for Eid’l Adha holidays.
Chancellor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney-General of Dubai, said authorities have initiated public prosecution to implement HH Sheikh Mohammed’s orders.
Al Humaidan said the release of prisoners from the emirate’s correctional and punitive establishments would alleviate the suffering of families of inmates.
In addition, the move will also allow prisoners to regroup into the community by allowing them to start a new life.
Yesterday, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered the release of of 803 prisoners.
The President also vowed to settle the financial obligations of prisoners.
