Ajman Civil Defense rescued a child trapped inside a vehicle in Al Rawda area on Sunday, August 27.
A report was sent to the authorities, informing them of a child aged 1 year and 8 months confined inside a parked car in Al Rawda, said Colonel Mustafa Sultan al-Ali, head of the station department.
The toddler was taken out of the vehicle in good health by civil defense personnel and is now in the care of his parents.
Leaving children unattended in a car especially during the summer is dangerous due to high temperatures, Col. al-Ali added.
In June, two Emirati sisters, aged two and four, died after suffocating inside their father’s car.
Leaving children alone is a crime punishable by law. Every action or omission posing a threat to the child’s life, physical, psychological, mental or moral integrity or health in any way shall be punished by imprisonment or a fine not less than Dh5,000, according to Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 on Child Rights.
