A UAE-based ride-hailing app launches their child-friendly service in Abu Dhabi on Monday, August 7.
In response to the new traffic regulations implemented last month requiring children under the age of four to be in a car seat, Careem launched the Careem Kids option in the emirate for passengers travelling with young children.
Each car in the Kids fleet is equipped with a child safety seat that can support a child weighing 30 kilos and less.
“We fully support all new regulations and initiatives that will help keep our little ones safer on the roads. Careem Kids has been a very well received service in Dubai for the past three years and it’s great to be able to offer it to our Abu Dhabi customers,” Bassel Al Nahlaoui, General Manager of Careem UAE said in an interview.
According to the new traffic law, drivers who failed to fix car safety seats for children under the age of four will be fined Dh400.
