Chinese apprehended for breaching NAIA security

A 30-year-old Chinese national named Zang Xiangyun was nabbed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal 1 after he managed to slip inside the terminal’s departure area on December 1.

JejuAir passenger handling supervisor Reynaldo Sison Jr. told the Airport Police Department (APD) investigator that he saw the suspect running towards their counter 17 after he bypassed the security checkpoint of NAIA 1 departure entrance, The Manila Times reported.

Sison said the Zang started to cuss airport security personnel who tried to pacify him. He hurled punches at airport security who were able to dodge the blows and handcuff him. The suspect was then brought to the airport security office for investigation. While there, Zang suddenly introduced himself as “Eric” and told authorities that he was a friend of former President Aquino.

Zang sustained cuts on his left eyebrow due to the incident.

Earlier, the Chinese national asked police personnel for an interpreter so he could explain his side.

It can be recalled that the Chinese community is complaining about the lack of a Chinese interpreter at the NAIA for cases that involve Chinese nationals.

Zang was slapped with assault of persons in authority, alarm and scandal before the Pasay city prosecutor’s office.
