Filipina weightlifter Vanessa Sarno has bagged two gold medals and a silver at the 2019 Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in North Korea.
Sarno dominated the 71-kilogram for the women’s youth division.
She was able to lift a total of 209 kilograms and managed to do a golden lift of 91kg in a snatch event.
Sarno won a silver medal in lifting 118kg in the clean and jerk category.
North Korean Ju Hyang won the gold for the clean and jerk lift with 119kgs.
Other Filipinas who bagged medals at the weightlifting championships were Zchariz Macawli in the 40-kg youth women’s category and Rosegie Damos for the 49kg category.
Macawli won the silver medal, while Ramps won the bronze.
